Guidelines
1.
Do not keep your valuables unattended during your stay at the beaches.
2. Do not indulge in drug offences which are punishable under the law
with penalty of 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 100,000/- and
inform the Police in confidence about the drug peddlars. The information, etc.
will be kept secret.
3. Nudity on beaches and public places is forbidden and punishable under
the law.
4. Follow Police Traffic rules strictly. Keep your valid documents, driving
license, passports etc., in your possession while driving. Traffic circulation
is on the left.
5. Do not keep your money, passport in the custody of undesirable persons.
6. Exchange your money through authorized banks/money changers only,
and insist on a receipt.
7. While shopping, avoid touts and brokers of shopkeepers.
8. Shopping/recommended From Government Emporia.
9. Don't purchase rail/airbus tickets through strangers or unauthorized
travel agents/tour operators, but from authorized agencies/counters only.
10. Voltage in GOA is 220, volts AC, 50 cycles. Tourists are advised
to check the voltage before using electric shaver or any other electric appliance.
11. In case of difficulty contact the nearest Tourist Bureau or Police
Station for help.
12. Tourist Police are posted at strategic points. Tourists are advised
to contact them for any assistance.
13. (a) The sea is quite rough at times specially during rainy season,
with undercurrents.
(b) The under water ground may not be even.
(c) Do not venture into deep waters because in emergency rescue becomes difficult.
(d) Do consult the life-guard on the beach before venturing into the water.
14. (a) Aids kills everyone 50% within 1 to 1 & 1/2 years after AIDS
symptoms appear.
(b) There is no treatment for AIDS nor vaccine to prevent HIV infection.
(c) Therefore,
(i) Use well sterilized or disposable syringes & needles.
(ii) Make sure the blood is tested before transfusion.
(iii) Don't switch partners.
(iv) Do not indulge in drugs.
